Julia Peyton-Jones

Julia Peyton-Jones OBE (b. 1952[1]) is co-director of the Serpentine Gallery, London together with Hans-Ulrich Obrist. Peyton-Jones studied painting at the Royal College of Art between 1975–78,[2] but did not continue a career as a professional artist. Two of her works still hang in the Bank of England. She was a curator at the Hayward Gallery before the Serpentine.[says who?] Peyton-Jones became director of the Serpentine Gallery in 1991. She oversaw a major refurbishment of the galleries. In 2003, Peyton-Jones was made an OBE by the UK reigning monarch Elizabeth II.
